Terms of service
Last updated 15 May 2026
These terms cover your use of Start-Up Library. By creating an account or using the tools as a guest, you agree to them.
The service
Start-Up Library is a small set of online tools for founders: Business Model Canvas, Lean Canvas, Value Proposition Canvas, and a Startup Growth Calculator. We're providing them free of charge and on an “as-is” basis.
Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe.
- One account per person; please don't share logins.
- You must be at least 16 to sign up.
Your content
Anything you type into a canvas or the calculator is yours. We don't claim ownership and we don't look at your content unless we're required to by law or you ask us to (e.g. for support). You grant us a limited licence to store and display it back to you so the tools work.
What you can't do
- Use the service to harm, harass, defraud, or impersonate anyone.
- Upload malicious code or attempt to break the service.
- Resell access to the tools or scrape the site at a rate that disrupts others.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate this. We'll try to give notice first unless the abuse is severe.
Free-plan limits
The free plan currently allows up to 10 saved canvases per account. Limits may change as the service evolves; we'll give reasonable notice in-app.
Service availability
We aim to keep the service running but can't promise it will always be available. We may add, change, or remove features — including the service itself — at any time. If we shut down for good we'll give you a reasonable window to export your data.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. The calculator's outputs are illustrative — they are not financial or business advice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Start-Up Library and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or business arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be excluded by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
Changes
If we change these terms we'll update this page and the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be announced by email.
